MIT Program

Have you ever wondered what you are made of?

We are all made in the image of God and are "fearfully and wonderfully made." Yet, we sometimes need help pulling out the gifts latent within us.

Sometimes we need help honing our most obvious talents into abilities that are useful and effective. MIT is a program designed to do both through the forging of relationships and the forging of character.

The training begins soon:

Denver, CO.

May 13 - June 2nd

  • Information

The MIT program is a course that endeavors to put college students into an environment equipped to effectively prepare them for spiritual leadership. This is accomplished through fun but rigorous exercises, daily expectations, and through some of the best teaching the Rocky Mountain Region can offer. Furthermore, a camaraderie and fellowship is created that will bind these future leaders for the important years to come.

  • The Classroom Practicum

The classroom practicum will not only teach sound principles for leadership and effective Biblical communication but will put students into controlled “mock” situations where they can practice what they are learning. Knowledge gathered in a vacuum without practical application is soon lost. The classroom practicum is a “lab” where MIT participants will experiment, test, and apply what they are learning. For the most part this is a “Socratic” environment where lectures do not dominate the classroom. Instead, our teachers will engage participants in consistent dialogue while ideas and principles are discussed and debated.

  • The Missionary Practicum (Bangkok, Thailand)

We are attempting something new this year. We will attempt to send 4 MIT students to Bangkok, Thailand for about 6 weeks in the summer. They will be housed and fed locally within the church there. Each participant will receive a small stipend as well. All flights will be paid for by the Denver Church of Christ. Once in Bangkok, you will have daily ministry tasks and duties helping the church there. You will learn aspects of both missionary work and ministry work during that time.

  • Internship Opportunities

We will also be filling several internship opportunities through this program. Throughout the program there may be Evangelists and Women’s Ministry Leaders stopping by to personally meet potential interns to work within their fellowships the rest of the summer. Please indicate on your application whether you are interested in an internship this summer. Details to follow.
