MLK Day of Service 2022!

Join us as we support our communities in remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy of service and equity. 


This day provides a special opportunity to strengthen ties to our communities and one other.

Opportunities for 2022 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

  • NOBA (Not on Bread Alone)
    Saturday, January 15, 11:30am
    NOBA will provide an opportunity to join together and spend time with neighbors without homes in Downtown Denver, passing out food and other helpful items.  Sign-up

  • Community Garden
    Saturday, January 15, 10am - 12:30pm
    A community garden in Aurora provides neighbors with fresh produce through the harvest season. Volunteers will help with special projects within the garden. These projects will  prepare the garden for the growing season, and support the goal of creating a beautiful space for this community to enjoy.  Sign-up

  • There With Care Support
    Saturday, January 15, 9:30am-11:30am

    This opportunity is seeking 10 fully vaccinated volunteers who are all willing to wear masks. The group will be assembling care bags for parents who are tending to their children in the hospital, etc. Sign-up

  • Virtual Blood Drive
    January 14-17, Various Times
    The Denver Church of Christ and HOPEww Denver will be supporting a virtual blood drive.  The need for blood donations is urgent in several communities. This opportunity will provide each member the freedom to schedule a time within these days to donate blood at a blood bank most convenient for them.  Sign-up for our Virtual Blood Drive HERE!

  • HOPE Scouts • Trash Pick-up and Peace March
    January 29, 2-4PM • Akron Room, MLK Jr. Library (9898 E Colfax Ave, Aurora, CO 80010)

    This opportunity is specifically designed for ages K-8 (parents are asked to accompany their children). The volunteers will be making signs that promote peace and unity, participating in a peace march around the library and picking up trash along the route. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status. Trash bags and gloves will be provided.
