Let’s do a recall of what we looked over earlier…what happened in Week 3 when they inaugurated the Tabernacle? (Link to Week 3 lesson)
Glory of the Lord fills the temple that Moses cannot enter the Tent (Exodus 40:34-35)
Fire from heaven consumes the sacrifice (Leviticus 9:23-24)
People fell facedown and worshiped God (Leviticus 9:24)
What happened in Week 5 when Solomon dedicates the Temple (Link to Week 5 lesson)
Fire from the heavens (vs 1)
Glory fills the temple that the priests cannot enter the Temple (vs 2)
People fell facedown and worshipped (vs 3)
Do you realize it happened a third time? Yes, a third time...read on, in Acts 2:
"When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?...we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”
Wind comes from heaven (similar to the cloud)
Fire comes down, this time resting as tongues
People fall facedown and worship God
Except this time, it is not in any manmade structure……God came to dwell in you and me!
Now that God dwells in us...do people worship God because they see Him in us?
The people could not look at us Moses after he left the Tent because God’s glory shone (2 Corinthians 3:7)
Is God’s glory shining in us? (2 Corinthians 3:18)
I remember the first time I put two and two together on how the Tabernacle and the Temple were a foreshadowing of the new Temple (me!). I had a job interview in two hours, but all I could think of us was that God is dwelling in me, right now! If that is true, does the outcome of this interview matter? (I did get the job!)
"Oh, the love that sought me!
Oh, the blood that bought me!
Oh, the grace that brought me to the fold of God
Grace that brought me to the fold of God"

Another housewarming? Yes, but this time it is very special!
