The Perez Family is Headed to Argentina!

July 27, 2020

In the spring of 2015, Miguel Perez and Cami Serra were engaged to be married. Little did they realize at the time that this was only the beginning of their adventure together!

Cami grew up as the daughter of a well-known evangelist in Argentina where she grew up in a Christian household. However, Cami remained uncertain of her own faith. She moved to Denver and began working at a local Chipotle. Here, she met Miguel. After a few months, they began a dating relationship and quickly became engaged.

As the engagement went on, their relationship became complicated and Cami decided it was best to break up with Miguel. She returned home to Buenos Aires, Argentina. While she was gone, Miguel reached out to Cami’s uncle, Augustin Lopez, asking if he would study the Bible with Miguel.

After studying the Bible with Cami’s uncle and a few of the brothers from Denver’s campus ministry, Miguel decided to make Jesus the Lord of his life and he was baptized in 2015! An ocean away, Cami was also growing in her faith and got baptized within weeks of Miguel. Over the next few years they would both become bible talk leaders in their respective ministries.

Miguel served in fruitful bible talks at Metropolitan State University of Denver and at CU Denver. In 2018, Miguel was asked to intern in the campus ministry. He was charged to spearhead the new campus ministry at the Colorado School of Mines. During his time there, he helped grow the small group into a thriving, healthy group of disciples.

At the same time, Cami’s faith continued to grow stronger. She began to help lead in her campus ministry in Buenos Aires. In 2018, she made the decision to come back to Denver to pursue more ministry training. Cami was quickly asked to become an intern in the summer of 2019. During this time, Miguel and Cami started rebuilding their friendship and began to date in the spring of 2019! They were engaged and married in January of 2020.

This past April, the newly married Perez’s were offered a position in Buenos Aires, to oversee the campus ministries in Argentina. They accepted the position and their flight leaves on August 15th!

Please send them your gratitude for their service all these years. Miguel and Cami, we will miss you so much!!
