Weekly Recap - Holding more than one world view

Christopher Zillman • June 22, 2020

A series to review the weekly "doings" of the Denver Church of Christ hosted by Chris Zillman. A combination of information, biography, philosophy, and theology. Super boring. Necessary. Here are some reviews of the series:

“Sometimes if you eat ice cream too fast you get a brain freeze. They are really painful. But the ice cream is so good that everyone once and a while before the pain of the brain freeze subsides you take another bite and you start all over again. That’s the power of how good ice cream is. I get a brain freeze watching “Weekly Recap!”. But, you know, without the enjoyment that ice cream provides.”

“For some reason a few months back my smart TV would only allow for two programs to show. One was an elementary school xylophone concert from 1984 that had aired on public access TV from Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The other was “Weekly Recap!”. I was humming those xylophone songs for weeks afterward.”

“One of the results of the global pandemic is the psychological fallout due to the quarantine. The greatest causes of mental illness during this time have been isolation and accidental exposure to “Weekly Recap!” As people have burned their favorite shows all the way down to shows they would never ordinarily watch they’ve grown desperate for entertainment. So they started engaging in “risky viewing behavior.” Unfortunately, they stopped heeding the numerous warnings that have been made regarding this dangerous show. Isolation sickness we can treat. We have been less successful with those who have been exposed to “Weekly Recap!”.
