The Temptation of Indifference
We wanted to repost this video for a #ThrowbackThursday! Our need to have compassion for each other still remains, and Chris reminds us not to allow fear to tempt us toward indifference.
"Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble."
1 Peter 3:8
“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” Mother Teresa
A series to review the weekly "doings" of the Denver Church of Christ hosted by Chris Zillman. A combination of information, biography, philosophy and theology. Super boring. Necessary. Here are some reviews of the series:
We use complex algorithms and prototype A.I. to determine terrorist threats and coded messages that communicate intent to harm over a wide array of media platforms. Billions have been spent on this kind of research and application. Within minutes of Weekly Recap! going live both algorithm and A.I. identified its content as extremely dangerous. Unfortunately when the A.I. began scrutinizing WEEKLY REECAP! more closely it suffered a catastrophic failure- a kind of illogic cascade. We still don’t know if it can be salvaged. We are keeping a close eye on Mr. Zillman and these videos and after watching them we begin to understand how our A.I. was incapacitated.
- Mrs. XXXX XXXX of the NSA.
I think they are great! I’ve never seen anything like it. Totally original! They are clever and they are deep all at the same time. I’m so glad I am awake to see them!
- Cal Hobbs (who recently awoke from a coma after 35 years)
I honestly believed it was a parody of something I simply didn’t understand. Like a SNL skit about a movie, if you’d never seen the movie. So when I discovered it wasn’t a parody but a serious attempt at commentary on the human condition I fell into a cataplexy brought on by intense despair- so I’m told. You just hope that when you witness something so absurd it was done with the intent to be absurd. That Weekly Recap! has an actual audience, that its creator has a paying job and that the world is not ending can only mean we have opened the doors for chaos and social entropy. When future archeologists find these videos they will trace the dissolution of 21st century Western Culture back to Weekly Recap!
